"Excellent and really inspiring but at the same time very approachable."
After 15 years as consultant e-learning professional at Netskills its no surprise that Danny is one of the leading lights in the revamped Netskills associates.
Watch out for the re-launch of some valued training workshops and some vibrant new training courses in association with Newcastle University Centre for Professional and Executive Development.
Danny led the embedding e-learning project taking place across the North East in four Further Education colleges over 2014-2015. It builds on a previous project which successfully introduced enquiry-based e-learning at South Tyneside College. Over 2012-2013, Danny led a team of Netskills Consultant Trainers who worked closely with a team at the college to co-design and develop six e-learning modules for their teacher training course.
The project team is now working to embed the outputs in the community. The vision is to see the modules “taken up” and embedded into the initial teacher training activities of four colleges. We want to see each college realising the benefits and show a clear direction for wider embedding and dissemination activities. Project Blog

“It's a real honour to be invited and I'm delighted to get involved, Danny said, From past experience, I know that IATED conferences are truly international and run with vibrancy, verve and a great degree of professionalism. EDTECH International Scientific Advisory Board
An international conference audience heard about the benefits of action-based immersive e-learning in Breda, Holland earlier this month. Netskills e-Learning expert, Danny McAtominey, was invited to run a session at The New age, the way forward conference organised by the AVANS University of Applied Sciences. Focusing on English as a foreign language, the conference considered the role of technology in taking their work forward.
Danny's session, Scaffolding Higher Level, Action Based e-Learning, was ideally placed, sparking considerable interest and receiving excellent feedback. Rosalind Van Aalen Grant, who organised the conference, said it was great to have Danny join the line-up and thanked him for truly inspiring lots of the teachers.
Danny believes the whole ethos behind action-based immersive e-learning makes it ideally suited for language teaching. Language fluency is all about being able to shift from one context to another... An immersive scenario-based approach to e-learning challenges learners to adapt and develop their use of language to different situations.
